A highly available Cluster runs its control plane and etcd with multiple replicas, spread over the Nest Instances. On a Multi-zone Foundry, they also spread over the Zones. The Cluster survives the loss of one Nest Instance.
Prerequisites
- The Nest is scaled out, see Scale Out the Nest. Until then, the switch is disabled.
Enable High Availability on a Cluster
- Go to Clusters → your Cluster name → Actions → Edit. For a new Cluster, set it during creation.
- Under Availability, turn on High availability
- Click Preview, then Roll out
To turn it off, switch High availability off the same way.
