Create Regions & Zones ​

Create a Region first, then its Zones, then put Machines in them.

Create a Region ​

  1. Navigate to Machines → tab Regions & Zones → Create Region
  2. Configure the properties:

  1. Click Create

The Region opens on its Zones tab.

Create a Zone ​

  1. Navigate to Machines → tab Regions & Zones → select the Region → tab Zones → Create Zone
  2. Configure the properties:

  1. Click Create

Put a Machine in a Zone ​

  1. Navigate to Machines → select the Machine → Actions → Edit Machine. For a Machine that does not exist yet, pre-register it and fill in the same field.
  2. Under Kubernetes, select the Zone. No Zone takes the Machine out of its Zone.
  3. Click Preview, then Roll out

The Machine's node gets the topology.kubernetes.io/region and topology.kubernetes.io/zone labels.
